- 2 slices whole grain bread (Dave’s Killer Bread, thin sliced Good Seed)
- 1 tablespoon light mayo
- 2 slices iceberg lettuce
- 3 ounces turkey breast (thinly sliced, Boar’s Head brand preferred)
- 2 slices ripe tomato
Instructions
- Toast the Bread: Toast two slices of whole grain bread until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. This provides a crunchy base for the sandwich.
- Spread Mayo: Evenly spread 1 tablespoon of light mayo on one side of each toasted bread slice. This adds a creamy texture and flavor balance.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of iceberg lettuce on one of the bread slices, then layer the sliced turkey breast evenly over the lettuce, followed by the tomato slices, and then the remaining slice of iceberg lettuce on top.
- Close and Slice: Top with the second piece of bread, mayo side down, to close the sandwich. Slice the sandwich diagonally or in half as preferred and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best flavor and texture, use Boar’s Head deli turkey sliced thin, preferably from the deli counter.
- To keep the sandwich fresh, assemble just before serving to prevent sogginess.
