Description

This Slow Cooker Turkey and Gravy recipe offers a simple and comforting meal with tender, shredded turkey cooked right in a rich, flavorful gravy. Perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked to perfection, this dish is ideal for cozy dinners and serves beautifully over mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale

Turkey and Seasoning

  • 3 lbs. boneless turkey breast
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. paprika

Gravy Mixture

  • 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup
  • 1.41 oz. Pioneer turkey gravy packet (or two 0.87 oz. packets of any other brand)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or chicken stock)
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Turkey: Place the boneless turkey breast into the slow cooker pot. Evenly sprinkle the black pepper and paprika over the turkey to season it.
  2. Make the Gravy Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, the turkey gravy packet(s), and chicken broth until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Gravy and Herbs: Pour the prepared gravy mixture over the turkey inside the slow cooker. Add the fresh thyme sprigs on top for added aroma and flavor.
  4. Slow Cook the Turkey: Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 hours, or until the turkey is tender and easily shreddable, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Shred the Turkey: Carefully remove the turkey from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard the thyme stems before returning the shredded turkey to the slow cooker to mix with the rich gravy.
  6. Serve: Serve the turkey and gravy hot, ideally over mashed potatoes for a hearty, comforting meal. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe is the easiest turkey and gravy you’ll ever make, with both cooking simultaneously in the slow cooker.
  • Removing the thyme stems before serving enhances texture and eating experience.
  • Ideal for a fuss-free weeknight dinner or special family gathering.
  • Using cream of chicken soup and gravy packets simplifies making a luscious sauce without extra steps.
