This Orecchiette Pasta with Sausage recipe combines flavorful Italian sausage with creamy sauce and tender pasta for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Ground Italian sausage (Or links, casings removed)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt*
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream**
  • 340 grams of uncooked Orecchiette pasta (about 3/4 lb)
  • 2 cups chopped fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Heat Skillet: Heat a large skillet or dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add sausage and onion. Cook until sausage is browned and onion is softened, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add Seasonings: Add garlic, salt, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add Liquid: Pour in chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan. Add cream. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook Pasta: Add uncooked pasta, stir, cover, and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring often, until al dente, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Finish: Stir in spinach and Parmesan. Serve hot.
