Ingredients
Scale
Banana Base
- 3 large bananas
Peanut Butter Topping
- 1/3 cup peanut butter (or PB2 powder mixed with water)
- ¼ cup peanuts, chopped
Chocolate Drizzle
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 2 tsp coconut oil
Optional
- Sugar-free or regular caramel sauce for drizzle
Instructions
- Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Slice the bananas: Peel the bananas, cut them in half lengthwise, then slice each half vertically to create manageable pieces. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt the chocolate: Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt them in 15-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted.
- Assemble the toppings: Spread about 1 tablespoon of peanut butter evenly over each banana slice. If using caramel, drizzle it on top of the peanut butter layer. Sprinkle the chopped peanuts over each slice, then drizzle with the melted chocolate.
- Finish with extra peanuts: Add a light sprinkle of chopped peanuts on top of the chocolate for added crunch and texture.
- Freeze the bites: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the banana snickers to set and become firm.
- Store and serve: Transfer any leftovers to an airtight, freezer-safe container and keep in the freezer. Before eating, allow them to thaw for about 5 minutes for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- These Frozen Banana Snickers Bites provide a healthier alternative to traditional candy bars with natural sweetness from bananas and protein from peanut butter.
- Substitute peanut butter with PB2 powder mixed with water for a lower-fat option.
- Using sugar-free caramel helps reduce sugar content if preferred.
- Allow the bites to thaw slightly before serving to enjoy the creamy banana texture underneath the chocolate.
- Store tightly in the freezer to prevent freezer burn and maintain freshness.
