Description

These Cucumber and Hummus Bites are a refreshing and easy appetizer option that is perfect for any gathering. Crisp cucumber slices are topped with creamy hummus and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a delightful bite-sized snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Cucumber:

  • 1 large European cucumber

Hummus:

  • 1/2 cup hummus

Additional:

  • black or white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the cucumber: Peel the cucumber, leaving strips of green or peeling all the skin based on preference. Slice into thick slices, about 3/4 – 1 inch thick.
  2. Prepare the cucumber: If the cucumbers are watery, press down on both sides with a paper towel to absorb excess water.
  3. Fill a bag with hummus: Place 1/2 cup of hummus into a thick plastic bag.
  4. Arrange the bites: Cut a corner of the bag and squeeze hummus onto each cucumber slice.
  5. Finish with sesame seeds: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the hummus before serving.

Notes

  • The European Cucumbers that come wrapped in plastic are ideal for this recipe.
  • This recipe works well with store-bought or homemade hummus.
