Description

Delightfully festive and easy-to-make Cornflake Wreaths perfect for holiday celebrations. These crispy, sweet treats combine butter, mini marshmallows, and crunchy cornflakes, shaped into charming wreaths and decorated with cinnamon candies for a pop of color and spice.

Ingredients

Scale

Wreath Mixture

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring (more as desired)
  • 5-6 cups cornflakes

Decoration

  • 72 cinnamon imperials (red hots) or mini M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of salted butter. Add 10 ounces of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  2. Add Flavor and Color: Remove the pan from heat. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring. Add more food coloring as needed to achieve your desired shade of green, stirring thoroughly for an even color.
  3. Mix in Cornflakes: Gradually add 5 to 6 cups of cornflakes to the marshmallow mixture. Gently fold and stir until all cornflakes are evenly coated with the colored marshmallow mixture.
  4. Shape Wreaths: Prepare a baking dish or counter space lined with parchment paper. Butter your hands to prevent sticking, then take 2-inch spoonfuls of the mixture and shape them into wreaths on the parchment paper.
  5. Add Decorations: Place 3 cinnamon imperials (red hots) or mini M&M’s on one side of each wreath to mimic berries and add a festive touch.
  6. Store: Allow the wreaths to set and store them in a covered container for up to 5 days.
