  • 24 oz Marinara Sauce (3 cups)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, ground
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp parsley, finely chopped

Ingredients for Cheese Sauce:

  • 16 oz low-fat cottage cheese
  • 15 oz reduced-fat ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp parsley, finely chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided


Instructions

  1. How to Make Meat Sauce: Place a deep pan over medium/high heat. Add olive oil, ground beef, and onion. Saute until beef is no longer pink. Add garlic, wine, marinara, salt, pepper, thyme, sugar, and parsley. Simmer covered for 5 minutes.
  2. How to Make Cheese Sauce: In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, egg, and parsley. Mix well.
  3. How to Make Lasagna: Preheat oven. Cook lasagna noodles. Layer meat sauce, noodles, mozzarella, cheese sauce, and repeat twice. Top with toothpicks, cover with foil, bake, broil, then let rest before serving.
