White Rice:

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons chili powder

Canned Items:

  • 1 (14-ounce) can crushed or whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced

Seasonings:

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Garnish:

  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves

Instructions

  1. Cook the beans: If using dry beans, follow stovetop or pressure cooker method to cook until soft.
  2. Cook the rice: Prepare rice in a pot with water, butter, and salt.

  4. Brown the meat: Brown ground beef in the skillet.
